Jessica's 6th Birthday

OK Late, I know, but at least it's still in the same month :)

Jessica turned 6 on Dec 16th. She has been wanting to get her ears pierced and we fineally conceeded and had them pierced after we had a birthday dinner at Red Robbin - Ice Cream and all!

We Love having Jessica in our Family! She is a little fireball of emotions, but has a very loving nurting side as well. She cares for her stuffed animals and dolls as if they were real! (Seat belts in the car, set's a place for them at the table, etc.)

One cute story about Jessica recently was when I was talking to her and telling her about how she got her name (Holly and I had a small wager, whoever guessed the closest to her birthweight got to have the final say on the names we had been thinking about. I won - I hit it right on the money - 7lbs!) Anyway, as I was relating this to Jessica I told her "I just GATTA Have a Jessica, I just GATTA to! (stealing a line from the moving Annie ) Jessica was standing right in front of me (facing me) as I said this. She then took both of her hands and held my face in her hands and starred me in the eye and said "And you GOT one!" It was very cute and fit right in with her personality. Luckily Holly was able to whitness the whole thing too!

Jason & Heidi's Halloween Party

We had a Halloween party the day after Halloween! It was lots of fun - Thanks to Jason and Heidi for hosting the party - You guys go all out -Thank You!


I think we were all anxious to see what Jason came up with for a costume this year. Jason did not let any of us down - he makes a great "Lucky the Leprechaun"


We had a great dinner with plenty of snacks and desserts. After dinner Heidi had games for the kids and the adults. The kids played a game of witch witch ghost, and the adults played a game called...I'm not sure what it is called but it may have been something like "The Wind Blows for..." It's hard to explain in just a few words here but it was a great game that let us get to know more about each other (Some may say too much - Everything will be OK Ryan!) but everyone was laughing and having a good time.

Halloween Party at Aunt Beckie's House

Holly's Sister Beckie had her anual Halloween party! There was plenty to eat (what else would you expect from a family potluck dinner!) including 3 different soups, various breads, carmeled apples, chips, dips, (but no dorks - for you "Can't buy me love" fans. Type in "chips, dips, and dorks" into Youtube for quick laugh).

After we ate, the kids made their own pumpkins out of orange, green and black playdough. Then it was on to the relay race - it was loud but the kids had fun! Prizes for the winners of the games and activities included various items from Beckie's pantry - Jackson got a box of Cookie Crisp cereal, he has never been so excited about a prize! Now he really can have cookies for breakfast! Here are a few pictures from Friday night's activities.

First Day of School

No, our kids aren't in some kind of private school - I'm just late getting this posted. Aspen is in 2nd grade, Jessica is in Kindergarten. They get to go to the same school together & they think that is pretty neat! Jackson started pre-school today as well. They were all pretty excited to start school - we'll enjoy that excitement while it lasts. :)

MUSIC!

I know this may sound like old news to some of you , but I just figured out how to get music to play on our blog. I love it. I found it on my brother Marc's blog and got it set up for ours. I have been searching for songs that we listen to in our house or in our cars when we go on trips. Most of these are classics that will nevet go away - but others are more modern that we enjoy. If you scroll all the way to the bottom you can see the list of songs that I have added so far. ENJOY! (more to come later!)

Reading Magazines with Daddy

This picture was taken a few months ago but I just found it on my camera. I had tweeked by back moving some things in the garage earlier in the day. I was trying to give it some relief and apply a little heat. I picked up a magazine to pass the time and Jackson decided to join me.

Aspen's Visit to the Summercamp with Daddy

I know this post is past overdue, but hey - better late than never.

I made multiple trips down to the Summercamp this year. Most of which during the month of September. One of the trips I brought Aspen along and she & I spent one full day having fun, riding horses, 4-wheelers, hiking, and relaxing. I then took Aspen down to her cousin's house in Norwood. She spent some time there while Daddy did a little bowhuning at the ranch. Here are just a few pics of the fun we had.

Aspen and I went for a hike. We went to a place we call Archie's Knob. It is a pretty well defined game trail that I had set up a trail camera on the weekend before.

Lambert Reunion at the Summer Camp Ranch '08

We had a great time at the second annual Lambert Family Reunion at the Summer Camp Ranch. Activities included: Fishing, Kayaking, & Canoeing at Mirimonte Reservoir, Riding Horses, Riding 4-Wheelers, Driving Grandpa Brian's Ranger (including chasing some cows that got out), Tin Foil Dinners, Smores, Shooting Grandpa Brian's guns (including the Black power rifle), Driving the new Ranch Tractor, Playing with Arnold's cow dogs, and more!

Past Due Update

It has been some time since my last Post. That's not to say we haven't had any notable experiences in the last few months, just that I am not quite accustomed to getting them posted here. Below is a brief summary of the last few months’ happenings.

Springville Art City Days - We passively participated in the activities this year, mainly just attendance to the parade and despite objections from Daddy to avoid the carnival, Holly conceded to one ride with the kids. (Pictures coming)

Father's Day - We had a nice dinner at Grandpa Lambert's house on Father's day. We gave Grandpa Lambert a new fishing tackle box in hopes to go fishing this year with him. Jackson has turned in to the family clown and loves to tease his older sisters and stick his tongue out in as many pictures as possible.

Jackson Broke his arm - Jackson fell off a retaining wall at my parent’s house and luckily came away with only a broken arm and a few scrapes and bruises. He walked up a 8" wide retaining wall to about 8-9 feet high. When I saw I him tried to get him to stand still until I could come get him, but he decided to try and turn around and walk back down. He stepped backward and lost his balance and fell down to a concrete slab. After calling 911, an ambulance visit, & a full body CAT scan at the hospital, the only thing the doctors could see wrong was his broken arm. We are very lucky and happy he is OK!!!
Lake Powell - It was an interesting trip this year. Without our usual rental of the trailers at Bullfrog, we were forced to be creative in our logging arrangements. With the one trailer for a couple nights, multiple hotel rooms and, a portion of the group camping out on the beach we eventually made it through the trip. We were also missing Will Beisinger (Serving in Afghanistan) and Eric Larsen & his boat (He had to Work), Ashley Lancaster (she had drill team stuff), and Jackson (Because of his broken arm, he stayed home with my parents). Despite the differences from our previous trips we still had fun. The highlight of the trip was probably the Water Weenie.


4th of July - Aspen's Highlight of this holiday was the Miley Cirus concert she went to in conjunction with the Stadium of Fire. We had two tickets given to us by my parents and Holly volunteered to take Aspen, (Daddy gave a sigh of relief for not having to go!) Other events included the freedom festival parade in Provo and the Fireworks show Friday night. Jessica, Jackson and I went over to the lawn just south of the Marriott center to watch the fireworks with the Murray family (thanks for letting us crash your blanket party!) Jackson loved the fireworks until the grand finale, that's when it got a little to loud and bright and he got scared. Also we had a Lambert family gathering at my parent’s house which consisted of a nice summer meal, lawn games, and a ruthless water fight.

Well that's it for now, we have a summer full of activities planned with Taylor and Bailie (Craig's Boys) They are in town for an entire month. We are looking forward to a trip to the Summer Camp Ranch next week, & the 24th of July rodeo in Spanish Fork.
